KeepSafe privacy statement

Your privacy is important

Personal information

When you register to use the KeepSafe browser, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • your name
  • a password
  • a valid email address

Your email address will be used as your unique identifier and to send you a password reminder should you request it.

User accounts that you set up as part of the testing process can use fictional names and do not require any personally identifiable information.

All data stored in the database will be destroyed once my dissertation has been submitted at the end of January 2008.

Cookies

Cookies will be used to keep you logged in to the system. All cookies will be automatically removed from your computer 10 days after you log in and will be removed immediately when you log out.

Third parties

Any information you provide, whether personal or as part of the answers you give to the questions, will be used for the purposes of deriving statistical data and qualitative information to help with my MSc project. Nothing will be passed on to third-parties that can identify individuals and no personal information will be made available in any form. Please note that the final dissertation report will be kept in the University of Liverpool Library.
